Aaron Buzza joined Visit Macon in 2017 and works with each of Visit Macon’s departments to welcome visitors and promote Macon. Buzza assumed the leadership of the Macon Film Commission in 2018, and in that capacity, he has worked with numerous productions, large and small. Prior to moving to Macon, Buzza was the Executive Director of Experience Waterloo in Waterloo, Iowa, for nine years. He earned his Certified Destination Management Executive credential from Destinations International during his time in Waterloo. He hosted a weekly travel program on Experience Waterloo’s social media platforms, featuring interesting places and people in the community. He also worked with the State of Iowa’s visitor industry to develop a statewide strategic plan and led the statewide organization focused on legislative issues.
Buzza is involved in the Macon community in a variety of capacities, presently serving as President of the Macon Arts Alliance Board of Directors. His podcast, “Talkin’ Macon,” was launched in May 2024. The podcast features stories from Macon and conversations with people who have lived or worked in Macon. He earned his Certified Diversity Travel Professional certification from Travel Unity in 2022.
Buzza graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA, with a Communication Arts degree with a focus in Radio/Television broadcasting. Buzza and his wife Crystal have two daughters and live in Macon.
