CEO, Augusta Sports Council & President, Georgia Sports

Michelle Pippin serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Augusta Sports Council, where she leads the organization's efforts to attract, support, and grow sporting events that enhance the quality of life and economic impact in the Augusta region. Michelle's journey with the Augusta Sports Council began in 2007 as an intern during her senior year at Augusta State University. She advanced through several leadership roles, including Community Affairs Coordinator and Operations Manager, before being named CEO in 2021. Throughout her tenure, Michelle has played a key role in bringing nationally recognized events to the region, including IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta, The Color Run, and nine USA Cycling National Championships. Among her proudest accomplishments is building and managing one of the area's largest volunteer programs, recruiting and coordinating more than 1,200 volunteers for over a decade for IRONMAN 70.3 Augusta while serving as Volunteer Director. In addition to her role at the sports council, Michelle also serves as President of Georgia Sports, a coalition of 26 cities throughout the state working to make Georgia the #1 state for sports tourism.
