Greg Staley is senior vice president of communications for the U.S. Travel Association, where he helps shape the organization’s executive, media and industry-facing messaging. He was appointed to this role in November 2012. Staley is a member of U.S. Travel’s Senior Leadership Team, a group of staff leaders who serve together to advance the association’s mission to increase travel to and within the United States.
Prior to joining U.S. Travel in this capacity, Staley led marketing and communications at Destination DC, the official convention and tourism corporation for Washington, D.C. During his tenure at Destination DC, Staley worked with the team to develop communications, advertising and digital marketing programs that promoted the nation’s capital as a premier destination for leisure and business travel.
A native Texan, Staley moved to Washington, D.C. in 2006 after more than 10 years in communications, marketing and tourism sales functions at the Fort Worth Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Staley has been active in the travel industry for over 20 years, including involvement with organizations such as the Dallas/Fort Worth Area Tourism Council, where he chaired its media committee; the Texas Tourism marketing committee; and the Public Relations Society of America.
Staley holds a Master of Science degree in communications from Texas Christian University (TCU). He and his family live in Washington, D.C.
